Fez at dusk
Fez, Morocco, December 2017
It is evening dusk in the imperial city of Fez and I am at the Marinid Tombs, some old ruins dating from the time of Marinid dynasty that ruled Morocco between 13th and 15th centuries. Close to the tombs lay a small Muslim cemetery with white gravestones, where a man wearing the traditional Djellaba sits on a rock. The last rays of the Sun are scattered on the dust carried by the wind from Sahara, and down in the old Medina the Muezzins from the hundreds of mosques begin to call to prayer.
